New Regional Public Transport Plan 2030

The "New Regional Public Transport Plan 2030" (PRT) relaunches the integration and innovation of public transport systems and, among its goals and specific purposes, places the need to seize the opportunities for transport connectivity and automation.  The primary aim is to achieve an improvement in the air quality within the Region, allowing modal interchange from road transport to more sustainable transport modes, such as rail and other shared mobility systems (car and bike sharing) within the areas involved.
This means a trial intermodality period with the issue of a single ticket across the Venice-Verona route, or within the individual municipal areas of Venice and Verona, for an integrated use of local public transport and other public services, i.e. MaaS - Mobility as a Service, that the Veneto Region has put in place together with its project partners NEMO S.r.l. and Lucian S.r.l. (OpenMove).

The trial period, therefore, envisages an initial tariff integration, associating several contracts of carriage, so as to manage the services between the various operators involved (AVM/Actv Venezia, ATV Verona, Trenitalia and Clear Channel for the Verona bike sharing service).

Integrated travel tickets

The integrated travel tickets, designed for the purpose of this trial, offer the following options:

  • In the urban area of Venice: using the AVM/Actv Venezia urban bus and tram services as well as the waterborne and People Mover services (excluding the service to/from Venice Marco Polo Airport) and the metropolitan Trenitalia rail service (Venezia S. Lucia, Venezia P.to Marghera, Venezia Mestre, Venezia Carpenedo and Venezia Mestre Ospedale),
  • In the urban area of Verona: using the ATV Verona urban bus service and the Clear Channel bike sharing service, in addition to the Trenitalia rail transport services between the stations of Verona Porta Nuova and Verona Porta Vescovo;
  • In both urban areas; with the services listed above, and through the Trenitalia regional service on the Venice-Verona section for travelling between the two areas.
